don't from moi. I thought one item my Undersized Urbanite entry was lacking that others had was landscaping. I would like to add this to my Spring Fling build. So, I followed some instructions on
eHow using foam rubber, since I had some on hand. I measured the paint perfectly, so I didn't need to drain any extra out. However! I failed to take into account the whiteness of the foam rubber, and my spring green lighted to neon alien skin color. So, I'm chalking this up to a learning experience. Next time, I will mix my paint much darker so that when it blends with the green, it will actually look like grass. Oh, well.
you know what some of the guys do is use that green foam that florist use for floral displays..they crush it up and put it in a shaker (like for parmasan cheese) they swath the ground in glue and shake shake shake until it's covered..(my brother is into model railroads and he tipped me off about it)
ReplyDeleteor you could just buy it if you dont want to do it yourself

I'm going to try it again, and if it fails again, there are other tutorials about combing felt, or chopping up twine. Or, make my own flock out of ribbon. There's still so many ways to keep trying. I think buying things takes the fun out of it! :-)
Deleteyou're right..but I have all this florist foam that I snagged from my friend soooo..it looks like I'm going to have to landscape something soon (oh well whats another projet on top of the others that I have going on :) ..hehehe)
